Morgan was kind enough to take time out from her whirlwind publicity tour for morganwebb.com to do an email interview with us:

Let's start out with some easy questions.
Space Monkey: What is your name?
Morgan Webb: Morgan Webb

SM: What is your quest?
MW: To rescue the princess

SM:What is your favorite (hair) color?
MW: I like them all. Maybe the bright orange (manic panic color flame) I had in college.

Since this is Morgan's Hair.Net the next few questions deal with your hair. Sorry.
SM: When was the first time you dyed you hair and what color did you dye it?
MW: The very first time I dyed my hair was in jr. high when I experimented with various colors of kool-aid (the kind without the sugar already added), which left a semi-permanent, barely noticeable red tint to hair. The curious thing is that blueberry kool-aid, though it's a blue powder and makes a blue drink, still dyes your hair that same reddish tint. When I was in college I first experimented with bleaching, orange, pink, and of course, blonde.

SM: Why do you dye your hair?
MW: I think the question is, why don't you?

SM: Is it true that you have shaved your head?
MW: Yes. I'm not very attached to my hair. The nice thing about it is that it grows back, and serves no earthly purpose except vanity.

Ok, now that we know all about your hair, let's find out about you.
SM: If your life had a theme song what would it be?
MW: I dunno

SM: What exactly is the deal with your Canadian/American nationality?
MW: My family is canadian, I hold both American and Canadian citizenship.

SM: How did you go from rhetoric major to TechTV windows tipper?
MW: I came out of college in the dot com boom, and I was already familiar with computer hardware and some programming. My first job really honed my skills, and I tend toward the nerdy side anyway, so it seemed a good fit.

SM: With your vast windows knowledge have you ever considered getting a MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)?
MW: Nah, I'd only need that if I wanted to pursue that side of it, and as of now I feel my calling is elsewhere.

SM: What is your favorite piece of software?
MW: oh i dunno depends on what I'm working on. Right now I guess I'm using the SSH Secure Shell Client a lot, it's free from ssh.org and comes with an ftp client. I like putty too but it doesn't have FTP.

SM: What do you think of your fansites? Creepy? Flattering?
MW: I used to not get it, but now I appreciate everyone's support. It's hard putting yourself out there day after day, and the thought that I'm teaching people something makes it all worthwhile.

SM: Is there anything else you'd like to say to your fans?
MW: Some people think my B-day is October 3 or 1. It's on the 5th. October 5th. Ok other than that thanks for all your support, almost everyone has been wonderful during my strange two year trip from computer nerd to well, on-air computer nerd. Thanks and keep checking morganwebb.com for updates, photos, and of course, good blogging fun.
